Chapman Burner And Heating Service Ltd is a fully insured (carrying $5,000,00.00 in liability insurance), bonded and licensed boiler and gas contracting (we carry an ‘A’ boiler contractors license) company.   We have over 60 years combined experience in this trade, performing quotation, job site co-ordination, employee training and supervision, installation, upgrade and emergency service calls. 

We have 4 Class A gas fitters, and 2 Class B Gas fitters on staff.  Chapman Burner And Heating Service Ltd has performed upgrades at the Vancouver General Hospital boiler plant, including the modernization of the fuel gas trains on the fifty year old boilers, assisting Norpac Controls with final testing and implementation ot the newest Delta V computer control system, and start up of the modern high pressure boilers (600PSIG steam) at this same project (these boilers fire at 65,000,000BTUH on either gas or oil).  We have recently assisted with the commissioning and start up of the 139,300,000 BTUH input low NOX Coen burner on the Nebraska ‘A’ type 600 PSIG super heated steam generator at Vancouver General Hospital (rated at 90,000 PPH).

Current projects include the construction and maintenance of the largest condensing boiler, high efficiency, low pollution central heating distribution system in North America, for Terasen Utilities and the City of North Vancouver, BC.

Past projects include a complete steam plant and all process piping installation in a large scale vitamin/health food manufacturing plant, replacement of burners and over 1,000 boiler tubes in a large industrial greenhouse, and ongoing control and burner modifications for Domtar – Eddy Specialty Paper’s watertube steam generators (150 PSIG saturated steam and 400 PSIG super heated units from 16-90,000 PPM

Other past projects include replacement of a Cleaver Brooks heating boiler with two medium efficient low NOX boilers for Colliers International, replacement of an underground Napanee boiler with individual heating and domestic hot water boilers in three buildings at a complex for CB-Richard Ellis (six mid efficient low NOX boilers and hot water holding tanks in total), and work on the Sky Princess cruise ship to perform control and burner improvements on the three 900 PSIG steam boilers that power the vessel (firing at 140,000,000 BTUH each, with three burners firing Bunker C fuel oil on each boiler). 

 Ongoing computer control upgrades at CIPA Lumber, including the mondernization of the fuel and burner systems on the 40 year old veneer dryers, has allowed the mill to achieve 220% production and over 90% run time on the dryers. 

 Children’s & Women’s Hospital (the old Shaughnessy site) boiler number one controls upgrade included upgrades to the pilot, oil and main gas fuel trains (this is a twin burner, A type Foster Wheeler watertube steam generator) and all mechanical and electrical designs were made by Chapman Burner And Heating Service Ltd. 

Recently, we have made major modifications to four 52,000,000BTUH hot water boilers for greenhouse heating and are very experienced with European style controls and burners now quite common in the greenhouse market.  We maintain the wood, gas and oil fired boilers for Houweling Nurseries. 

We are completely experienced in working with swedge style, flexible tube style, firetube and industrial watertube boilers, and all the associated equipment, including de-aerators, condensate systems and pumps, modulating and operating controls and all burner systems.

Our scope of work includes direct and in-direct fired air handling systems, industrial dry kilns and any type of process heating applications. 

Other burner services include multiple fuel applications, waste fuel systems, increased turndown, better fuel to air mixing modifications (to reduce excess air flow and increase efficiency), NOX reduction systems (and maintenance of NOX systems) and control upgrades for automation and better communication.
